Description
- Mr. Kubodera is the homeroom teacher of 9th Grade Class 3 at Yomiyama North Middle School. He and his mother are two of the “Deaths of July”.
- He seems very consent on everyone keeping the class rules top priority. He is seen losing his mind under the frustration of the class’ curse, when the countermeasures didn’t work.
- He has black hair and black eyes and wears spectacles. In the anime, he looks a bit young whereas in the manga, he appears rather old. He usually wears a white shirt along with a blue tie tucked perfectly in brown striped pants.
- Kubodera is rarely seen except for when the class starts, where he is present for homeroom. In episode 6, he is seen coming to class in a messed-up state and proceeds to take out a knife, apologizing to everyone. He then proceeds to use the knife to commit suicide in episode 7. Later, in that following episode, it is stated by Chibiki that he couldn’t bear the pressure of the class’ curse and killed first his seriously-bedridden ill mother and then committed suicide in front of the whole class. But it rather seemed that he was trying to ward off the hand which held the knife. Right before dying he is seen glaring at someone with rage. It is unknown who it was, but it is believed to be Kouichi. Mr. Kubodera was also the person who sugested that Mei Misaki to be the one “who doesn’t exist”. Later, in episode 9 , Kubodera-sensei appears like a ghost in Kouichi ‘s nightmare claiming it is his fault.
